Leo the Steampunk Leopard, and his cub

Here are two leopard theme pendants, one I just finished, and the other I made a while ago. I started the steampunk one a few weeks ago for one of the YOJ challenges on the Australian Beading Forum, but didn't have time to finish it until now. The head and paws were made with white polymer clay which I painted, and the rest was assembled with bits and pieces and seed beads. I used some Twinkling H2O watercolours, hence the body parts are somewhat pearlescent and shimmering in real life. The cub one is an enamel pendant I did quite a while back, using various techniques including cloisonne and overglaze painting enamels. It took many firings to achieve the result I wanted. I thought it's cute to show them together. Please click on the photos if you'd like a larger view.

PS. I have entered these pieces into Sandy's Challenge #3. You can check out her blog Sandy's Space at http://angsandy.blogspot.com/

  7. Caroline....would love to see your work published in a book with design/construction ideas. Your work is easily as inspiring as the best of the US ladies...just need LARK or some publishing company to sign you up, or you could always self publish. I know it would be worth it as so many of us are in constant awe of your work!

  8. Ah, Mel, you're too kind. :) I have thought of submitting works to some USA magazines such as Belle Armoire Jewellery, but just haven't had time to do so with everything else that's going on. Don't think my works are worth a book by themselves though - although that would be a dream come true for sure! Anyhow, thanks for your support and encouragement, buddy. :)

  12. Sweet BJ, thanks for your lovely comments. Yes I do have a nice display cabinet for some of my jewellery, but they're just lying there flat on the shelves, and it looks so messy and boring! I'been wanting to arrange and display them properly but never got round to doing so. Well, one day I will... Thanks again. :) XXX
